Our Green Freight Commitment
At JK Salt Pvt. Ltd., we believe that the salt we provide to millions of households should be as pure as the environment it comes from. Greener Logistics Through Indian Railways
Transporting goods across India is a massive task. To change this, JK Salt has shifted its cargo movement to Indian Railways Freight Services.
Why Rail is the Better Choice
Moving goods by train is significantly more eco-friendly than using roads. By choosing the tracks, we reduce the amount of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions released into the atmosphere. We use the Rail Green Points (RGP) system, which measures the amount of Carbon Dioxide ($CO_2$) we save by avoiding road transport. We are earning an approximate of 15,000 Rail Green Points every year.
Powering Our Plants with Renewable Solar Energy
Our sustainability efforts don’t stop at transport. By our 1.75 MW Solar Power Array, we are shifting away from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy.
Environmental Impact of Our Solar Initiative
- Carbon Avoidance: A system of this scale prevents over 2,300 metric tons of $CO_2$ from entering the atmosphere every year.
- A Natural Solution: This carbon saving is equivalent to the thousands of acres of forest land.
- Cleaner Air & Water: Solar energy produces zero harmful emissions and requires almost no water for operation.
